The author of The Creative Problem Solver's Toolbox, Richard Fobes, has originated many creative solutions. The following three published writings describe some of his original ideas:
The following original ideas are described within the above writings:
VoteFair ranking, which is a method of calculating a fair, overall order of preference when voters indicate
not only their first choice, but their second choice, third choice, etc. This voting method is described at www.VoteFair.org. It was first described, very briefly, in The Creative Problem Solver's Toolbox. Also, it was mentioned in the Futurist magazine article. Its advantages are described in
a chapter within the online book titledHope for the Future.
A Years-In-Prison (YIP) movie rating idea is described in
a chapter within Hope for the Future, and
briefly mentioned in the Futurist magazine article.
A phonetic sign language is described on pages 272 to 277 of The Creative Problem Solver's Toolbox. This new kind of sign language would represent spoken sounds as hand signs. Unlike finger spelling, there would be a one-to-one correlation between hand signs and spoken sounds. It would be very easy-to-learn. In addition to increasing communication with deaf and voiceless people, it would be used by unhandicapped people to communicate across a noisy hall, across a quiet concert hall, on opposite sides of a window, and underwater. Furthermore, electronic equipment could translate spoken sounds into hand signs for a deaf person, and could translate a voiceless person's hand signs into spoken sounds.
A sequence of steps for solving the problem of illiteracy is described on pages 264 through 280 The Creative Problem Solver's Toolbox.
A second kind of patent (called an open patent) that would make it easier for individual inventors to get recognition for sharing useful inventions. This idea is described in
a chapter of the online book titled Hope for the Future, and
mentioned in the Futurist magazine article.
An energy-efficient elevator is described on pages 23 through 25 of The Creative Problem Solver's Toolbox.
A money device is described on pages 215 and 216 of The Creative Problem Solver's Toolbox.
An international unit of money - called the unidollar - that is never represented in currency is described on page 311 of The Creative Problem Solver's Toolbox, and mentioned in the Futurist magazine article.

The expanding-outline navigation system for this website. (Why are the navigation links on the right side? Because when I tried them on the left side some search engines listed the words in those links as if they were the beginning words of this website.)
